NEW ZEALAND COLLEGE OF PSYCHIATRISTS

It is a great pleasure to invite you to the Second International Mental Health and Cultural
Psychiatry Conference of the Indo Australasian Psychiatry Association and the South Asian
Forum on Mental Health & Psychiatry Australasian Chapter co-sponsored by the World Psychiatric Association. Issues of culture are increasingly being linked to our understanding of mental health and wellbeing. In this conference, delegates will have a rich opportunity to learn, discuss and reflect on the complex interactions between spirituality, culture and mental health. The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists congratulates Indo Australasian Psychiatry Association for its rapid development and for bringing together speakers from around the globe to participate in these important discussions.

I hope those delegates visiting Australia for the first time will take the opportunity to explore this country a little, and see for themselves the enormous contribution that psychiatrists from the South Asian region have made to psychiatric practice in Australia. I look forward to meeting you.
