Primary objective of IAPA (Aus)
To improve the mental health care provided to the Australasian community
Preliminary Objectives 1 .To develop a network of Psychiatrists currently practicing in Australia and New Zealand who share a common heritage and have family, friends and cultural ties with the subcontinent.
2. To help and support the work of the members so that they can function effectively and to their best of their abilities in Australia and New Zealand .
3. To develop and nurture a collaborative working relationship for the members with the various governmental agencies, the RANZCP and other professional bodies, in order to optimize the members contributions to the Australian and NZ communities.
4. To promote the work of the members of IAPA, and to lobby governmental and non-governmental agencies on their behalf so as to provide them with the best working environment in which to fulfill their duties.
5. To establish collaboration with other organizations that has shared background and objectives, in other countries such as the UK , USA , Canada and other regions.
6. To contribute to the development of psychiatric services in the subcontinent, and to promote mental health education and research in these countries.
7. To support newly arrived colleagues from the subcontinent both professionally and socially. |
